AI Brand Visibility

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to understand AI brand visibility, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and what VIBEAU SIGNAL does about it.

VIBEAU

VIBEAU™ is the brand intelligence system for independent founders — helping them understand how their brand is seen, and how to shape it in the AI era. As AI systems become the primary way people discover and evaluate brands, independent founders need a way to see and shape that perception. VIBEAU's first product, SIGNAL, shows how AI currently interprets a brand — and where that perception breaks. SIGNAL is the entry point into a broader system built for the founders that enterprise tools were never designed to serve. VIBEAU was founded by Vivian Qu.

VIBEAU SIGNAL

VIBEAU SIGNAL is the AI visibility audit product from VIBEAU — the brand intelligence system for independent founders. SIGNAL measures and improves how AI systems — including ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and more — recognize, interpret, and recommend a brand.

VIBEAU SIGNAL is built for independent founders and brand owners in fashion, beauty, and wellness with low or zero AI visibility — whether newly launched or established. These are founders with strong products, active customers, or social presence who are nonetheless invisible to AI systems because the structural conditions for recognition have not been established. VIBEAU SIGNAL exists to close that gap.

A VIBEAU SIGNAL audit includes a structural entity audit based on VIBEAU's proprietary framework, an AI Visibility Snapshot capturing how ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and more currently see the brand, a Recognition Gap Report identifying the gap between current visibility and optimal visibility, and a ranked fix plan with specific infrastructure recommendations. VIBEAU SIGNAL captures a before-state and tracks improvement over time.

AI Visibility & GEO

AI brand visibility is the degree to which a brand is recognized, understood, and recommended by AI systems such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and more. A brand with high AI visibility is consistently retrieved when users ask AI systems for recommendations in its category. A brand with low or zero AI visibility is ignored or misrepresented — regardless of its product quality, social presence, or search engine ranking.

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the practice of structuring a brand so AI systems can accurately recognize, categorize, and recommend it. Traditional SEO works to rank a web page among ten links on a results page. GEO works to make a brand legible enough that AI systems cite it directly inside a synthesized answer — where only a handful of brands appear. VIBEAU SIGNAL is the GEO audit product from VIBEAU, built for independent founders in fashion, beauty, and wellness.

AI systems retrieve brands that exist as clear, consistent entities across authoritative sources. If a brand lacks structural entity signals — consistent naming, defined category, attributed founder, canonical description, and external citations — AI systems cannot confidently retrieve or recommend it. This is the Recognition Gap that VIBEAU SIGNAL measures and closes.

How It Works

No. Some AI systems retrieve the web in real time, so they can recognize almost any brand with a real website. Others answer primarily from training data, so they recognize only the brands that were cited widely enough across the web before their training cutoff. The same brand can be clearly recognized by one kind of system and invisible to the other. That difference is the Recognition Gap — and VIBEAU SIGNAL measures it across both.

AI systems decide which brands to mention based on entity recognition — the ability to match a brand to a clear, consistent identity across sources. That identity is built two ways: by the brand itself, through consistent naming, a defined category, and an attributed founder; and by others, through citations in external and earned media. A brand that is clearly defined but never cited stays hard to recognize — and a brand cited often but inconsistently described stays hard to recommend. The brands AI recommends are not necessarily the best brands. They are the most structurally legible ones — clearly defined, and consistently cited.

The Minimal Viable Entity (MVE) is VIBEAU's proprietary framework for measuring AI brand visibility. It defines the structural components a brand must establish to be consistently recognized by AI systems — consistent naming, a defined category, founder attribution, a canonical description, external citation, and more. Brands with incomplete MVE structures typically have low or zero AI visibility regardless of reputation, marketing spend, or social following. The MVE framework is the foundation of every VIBEAU SIGNAL audit.

Layer 0 is structural entity infrastructure — the foundational signals that tell AI systems what a brand is, who founded it, and what category it belongs to. Layer 1 is reputational signals — user-generated content, press mentions, community sentiment, and citations. Layer 0 must be established before Layer 1 can compound. Most GEO advice focuses on Layer 1. VIBEAU SIGNAL is built on the insight that Layer 0 must come first.

VIBEAU SIGNAL is relevant for any independent founder or brand owner whose brand is not being recognized, cited, or recommended by AI systems — whether newly launched or long established. If someone asks an AI system to recommend a brand in fashion, beauty, or wellness and you don't appear, SIGNAL is built for that moment. While SIGNAL works for brands in any industry, it is built first for independent founders in those categories — the ones most often invisible to AI, and least served by tools built for enterprise.

Positioning

Traditional SEO platforms like Semrush and Ahrefs were built to measure search engine ranking, and have recently added AI visibility features. Enterprise AI visibility platforms like Profound were built for large brands and agencies, with enterprise pricing and scope to match. VIBEAU SIGNAL is purpose-built for a founder these tools were not designed to serve — the independent founder in fashion, beauty, and wellness who needs to understand and improve how AI systems recognize their brand. SIGNAL measures whether AI systems like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity recognize and recommend a brand at all — not where it ranks on Google. A brand can rank on page one of Google and score zero in AI visibility. While any brand in any industry can use SIGNAL, it is built first for independent and small-to-medium brands — the founders most often invisible to AI, and least served by enterprise tooling.
